[ Soul is worn out. He's still sick and he's more than a little bummed, but he's trying to look cheerful for the network. His smile is tired when he appears but he still manages it somehow.

So, I shoulda announced this before, but I was kinda busy. [ More like coughing his lungs out, but okay. ] I've been organizing a party for Halloween, a masquerade to be exact. I could use some help with setup - anyone able to help me out? It's gonna be in the gym starting at early evening and go until we're all partied out.

[ He actually gives a real grin this time, however momentary it is. ] It'll be great.

You're not going to get anywhere if you don't take care of yourself, Soul-kun. [Atsuya still maintains Shirou's tone and demeanor, since this is public. No need to stir up unnecessary concern. He's fine. Soul isn't.]

[ Soul blanches and nearly cuts off the connection, but that would be more than a little abrupt and mean, too. Meaner than avoiding someone in person, which is what he's been doing to Atsuya already. ]

....yeah.

[ How is he supposed to explain that emotions and worries have been keeping him from sleeping? He can't think well enough to, and so he doesn't. ]

You're right. So I should go... do... that.

[It's been annoying. Atsuya couldn't ever seem to track Soul down - he's just been channeling that frustration into extra soccer practice instead. He squints into his screen at Soul's reply. Something's weird.

His thoughts turn to Someoka suddenly. To the leg that had nearly shattered to perfect their combo move. He frowns, and his tone is maybe a little meaner than Shirou would use.]

Are you in the infirmary?

[ Soul's perfectly fine with the meaner tone. It's more what he's used to from Fubuki and no matter how much avoidance he's been employing, he'll always prefer Atsuya to Shirou.

I've got a sound system I can loan out to you. I had some party lasers too, but I've converted those into defensive armaments...

Why am I not surprised you converted those?

Probably because I am a paranoid scrounger who could make a spaceworthy craft out of stuff I find lying around the house.

On the other hand, that usually means I've got stuff to spare for just about any situation.

Yeah, the gym. [ Soul manages a real grin at the 'spooktactular' bit. He likes dumb puns, as long as they don't come from Maka. ]

...And the fact that a big heap of assorted costumes in a disparity of sizes happens to show up in the aforementioned gym is sheer coincidence. ]

[Now, Perona has heard this word thrown about a lot lately - Halloween - and while she's guessing it's some sort of festival or party, she doesn't know the actual gist of it. But a masquerade? Absolutely! A touch of class is just what this bland place needs, as well as some fun...after the last predicament, they could all use it in droves.]

Oh, I could help make masks if there's enough good material for it. [Sorry, but she's not burning a favor for this.] I can sew and design! ...But what's 'Halloween'?

We've got a bunch of costumes that aren't finished, someone who can sew would be awesome. What kinda material do you need for the masks?

[ A pause as he tries to decide on the best description of Halloween. ]

It's a great night where you can give treats or pull tricks and get lots of candy.

Eh...something sturdy, but flexible. It has to be comfortable as well, if it'll be worn throughout the party. Maybe velvet trim, some feathers, glitter...

[Perona taps a finger to her cheek as she hums thoughtfully, listing off some more materials as they come to mind. Honestly, the masks are probably the easiest thing to make. The costumes, if they're unfinished, shouldn't take too long depending on the level of detail necessary, either. And if she doesn't go overboard, or add her own flair to anything...

Perking up, Perona tilts her head to one side slowly. She's not sold yet - it sounds too much like every other party she's gone to, and that whole 'prank' holiday (April Fool's) was not her scene in the slightest.]

Mmh...so it's just a ball with food and mischief? That doesn't seem so special.
