[This post is text for two reasons: one, Zuko feels a little awkward making this sort of announcement, and two, Kizuna can't read.]
I have a favor to ask.
Most of you know my daughter Kizuna. She's just turned a year old.
Ozuma's recovered enough now, we can take time to celebrate. I could use some help making some Fire Nation dishes. And decorating. You know, party things.
[Whatever... party things are...? She's sure someone will know.]
I want to make this special for her.
Thanks.

(sorry if this is super confusing, lol)
In turn, she may end up finding her own thoughts wandering towards his own experiences throwing his beloved brother a birthday party, albeit translated through the lens of her own experiences, swapping out Sans for Zuko, Papyrus for Kizuna. Familial fondness feels about the same. ]
* hey, a birthday party. sounds nice.
[ (Kizuna) was dead on (her) birthday, so (you) gave (her) yours. Everyone came, including (Sans), when (you) asked (him) to come without really expecting much. (He) was kind to.
What do you mean it was the other way around? ]
I think it's supposed to be? lol
And a funny thought. A thought that should come with more unease than it does. Kizuna is fine. Always has been.
Zuko frowns in confusion, but before she can think too much on it, her phone makes a noise. Better to just dismiss it.]
That's the idea.
Want to help?
[Sans should know about this stuff. And maybe... it would be good for him?
His shadow couldn't harm her, but she doesn't know where it might have succeeded.]

Maybe it's something he ate. ]
* why not? i'll be party to your shenanigans.
* for a good cause, anyway. know what you're doin'?
[ No-- he gets the strangest impression she could use a hand with this. It'd be a nice change from the gray area he exists in, lately, just sort of coasting along. ]

I was thinking a figurine that you can fill with oil, or make it hold small fireworks.
Just something she can set on fire to her heart's delight.

...asking her permission to make her daughter a toy.
It even sounds like something Kizuna would like.]
As long as it's safe for her.

Zuko-chwaaaaaaan~! ♥♥♥
Allow your gallant knight to assist in the feast~!

[What do knights have to do with it.]

... Y'know what? Nah, not gonna comment on that. God but he loves Zuko's straightforwardness]
Yes, with the cooking~! Whatever dish your heart desires, I swear to recreate it to perfection~! 😘

i wanna help!
[Last month was hell. There's food again, though, and Rin can cook normally once more. That's the perfect distraction for what happened to him with the shadows.]
no subject
I don't think that translated right.
Sanji wants to help cook, too. Is that okay?
[Considering how super weird he acts around......... no, Rin is a boy, never mind.]

and yeah that's fine we've met before

Yeah, that's what you get for jumping in impulsively, isn't it. She gives this a bit more thought before responding, this time.]
Not sure about that, but I could probably help with putting decorations up and so on.

[ That's what he recalls from those cultural festivals... but then, different iterations, it could be different. He hums a little, and... a year old, huh. ]
What about games? She got any favorite pastimes?
no subject
I don't know many games. She likes things she can pick up and carry around.
[And then stash in places Zuko doesn't know about.]

[ "Including Zuko-kun" goes unsaid in that. ]
Well then I guess shogi's out!
[ It was always out, of course. ]

I would love to help cook some things, if you don't mind sharing the recipes! Or we could make some decorations, I know there's paper to be found at least...
[Never mind that she's still recovering from a stab wound and then being repeatedly kicked in said stab wound.]

[Is decorating less strenuous?]
wow im so late fuck me

Coming up with a thing now.
Oh, that reminds me! When's your birthday, master?
[Six seconds later]
Sorry about using the 'm' wordText
You don't need to know my birthday.
[She's wary of this question, don't throw her a party.]
