Boom.
[The feed begins on this fine day with the bluster of static from the wind rushing around them. The ledge itself leads to something of a wind tunnel, after all-- to the left of the feed’s view, one of the cages can be seen swinging mournfully back and forth, open and empty.]
Good morning, Sol Raveh. I have something I wish to share with you.
[Chara remarks from out of view, and the camera moves forwards with their footsteps, up an incline of what was a rather hazardous path in the rain and dark, eventually coming to rest on the gears that had caused more than a few problems, in their own way.
But they aren’t aiming the feed at that.
They’re aiming the feed towards Colin.]
Mister Colin, are you about done?
[Colin, for his part, is crouched beside the gearworks, inspecting a length of wire. The camera can track that wire along the gears, coming to rest briefly on several bulky charges set in place at key points.]
The charges are set, Chara, and the system is ready. All that’s left is to take cover and detonate. Would you like to do the honors? Or shall I?
[The feed bobs, as Chara shifts their mobile from one hand to the other.]
Would you hold my phone, in that case? I want this recorded.
[Colin stands and walks over to Chara, reaching out to take the phone from them. The display shakes as the two of them exchange devices, and when the camera settles once more, Chara is in view, with a small hand-held device in their hand. With a bright red button that needs no explanation to its purpose.]
[The wind whips their hair into a frenzy around them, looking down to the device, then to Colin for confirmation.]
[Colin nods in response to Chara and takes a step back, holding up the camera for a steady, cinematic view.]
Right, okay. Lights will be provided shortly… Here’s the camera… So… Action!!
[A grin, wild and reckless and perhaps just a little bit genuine. The moment they’re certain he’s ready-
Chara takes their time. Holds the trigger up in a rather dramatic gesture, index finger of their free hand raising even higher, and dramatically, they bring it down.
Boom. Boom. BoomBoomBoom.
The charges could easily have detonated simultaneously, but Colin wanted to make sure that they did the job with style. Additionally, each blast was set to create weaknesses in the gears, to make subsequent blasts all the more effective. In grand total, there are five explosions in the course of three seconds.
And the results, as far as Chara is concerned, are beautiful. They let out a loud whoop, barely discernable over the sound of the blasts as the chains connected to the gear whiplash outwards, up, and away, turning and gesturing to Colin to turn the camera now, quickly!
Just in time to watch those chains join the cages in crashing down. Down. Down.
And out of their hair for good.]
A pleasure doing business with you, mister Colin!
[They’re shouting- sue them. You come stand next to multiple blasts and see how your ears feel afterwards.] I want my phone back!
The pleasure was all mine!
[The camera jostles again as Colin holds it out, his voice only slightly quieter than Chara’s, before the feed cuts out.]

I expect royalties. Patent to Chara, circa 201X.

death is great and all but it's good to have a fallback plan.

Of course he'd probably know what it's like. He carries himself so heavily. Like an invisible pall draped over his shoulders.]
well hey.
it's one way to be remembered.
[Unless, of course, you don't want to be remembered at all.
But he doesn't think there's a tombstone for that one.]
