[Chloe is outside somewhere, probably the garden if the greenery around her is any indication. She's got a cigarette between her fingers and takes a drag before she keeps speaking, smoke curling out from between her lips.]

Who of you chucklefucks actually celebrates Thanksgiving? Or something close to it? 'cause I'unno about you but I'm seriously craving some bombass turkey and pumpkin pie.

[Another drag, a breath out.]

Think we could literally just give a shopping list? 'cause oh, man...you know how long it's been since I've had pie? Heck, proper food that wasn't mostly space goo? I almost cried when I had a grilled cheese sandwich around when I first got here!

Hunk would be totally down for cooking a big meal too, if we got the stuff together. He's magic in the kitchen. Like, just, literal food wizard.

Whoa, whoa, back up. Space goo? Do I even wanna know? ... wait, I already asked, didn't I?

[He gives a visible shudder at the memory.]

So, I've been on a castle-slash-spaceship going from planet to planet before I got here. And the problem with a ten thousand year old castle is that there's apparently no real food outside of some kind of...green goo. I mean, it has all the nutrients we need and everything, but do you know how hard it is to eat that crap day in and day out?

We always try to stock up on food when we get to planets that have some we can actually eat, but...

Is... is that like... normal for you? Being in a space castle... in space?

[She's really confused ok. Time travel is one thing (and she doesn't even really experience it the way Max does) but ten thousand year old spaceships and food goo?

It wasn't until recently. It all kind of happened reeeeeally quickly. One day it's just failing flight simulators back on good ol' Earth, the next, I'm piloting a giant blue robot lion that can combine with other robot lions into one giant robot. And trying to save the universe from an evil galactic empire that's been enslaving it for thousands of years. No big deal.

[Lance gives a little shrug. It's odd how...used to it he'd gotten.]

That's kind of a huge jump if you were failing your simulators back on Earth.

Are you aware that your life kinda sounds like an anime?

Yeah, well, those simulators were probably rigged or something anyway. I'm plenty capable actually flying my lion. More than capable. I kind of kick ass.

...y'know, you're right. It really does. I'm living the dream! Well, was, anyway, before I ended up here.

Uhuh. [Why does she not believe you, Lance?] Is anime to video game a downgrade or an upgrade? I'm thinking downgrade. You get the realism, but all the stupid awesome episode-long powerups are gone. ... oh God I'm starting to sound like Max. Her nerdery is rubbing off on me!
