[She should make sure people don't do that right?]
[Text]
reference to an old board game, don't worry about it.
so, about that tea.
i betcha tori might like that idea.
you should give her a call.
[Text]
I sent her a message.
Are you okay? I don't know if skeletons can get poisoned.
[Text]
i tend to steer clear of dangerous flowers.
that reaction gets too volatile for my tastes.
[Text]
[Text]
yep.
[Voice]
That flower is wolf's bane, o-or at least it's one of the names I've heard it called. I can confirm it is highly toxic. Do not touch it unless you know the risks - it can kill in only a few hours.
I-- [Perona hesitates, chewing her lip. She really doesn't have much, but--] ...I know a little bit about treatment, but there's no way we have the supplies here. Even so, the symptoms are usually tingling, burning or numbness at the point of contact, and dizziness. If you've been in contact with the flower in any way, seek medical attention as fast as possible. The poison will attack your heart. Don't wait.
[There's a loud shuffling as the phone drops onto her mattress. Sans said something about an infirmary? Well, she's going to be headed there right now. She's no expert, but two years of medical training has given her enough knowledge on how to care for a sick or injured person. Her two pokemon chirp in confusion, and Perona waves her Misdreavus to follow, picking up her Cleffa in one hand before going back to her phone.]
If you have a favor to use, it might help to ask for activated charcoal. It helps, but only an hour after symptoms start.
[Voice]
[ Monster here. Your human ailments and medical treatments are still pretty alien to him, and the most he knows he read in a first aid book.
Not exactly helpful. ]
[Text]
[Voice]
Ingest the charcoal - a small dose is fine - it's an absorbent, said to reduce absorption of poisonous substances by up to sixty percent. [She adds, quickly--] Ingestion of the toxin or even absorbing it through the skin doesn't matter, this treatment works either way...fr-from what I can recall...
Sans, what's the infirmary like? Does anyone man it? Do you know what sorts of supplies are available? Tools? [Yeah, sorry, but Perona's in Nurse Mode, and she's making her way to said infirmary right now, her bare feet slapping against the stone.]
[Voice]
[ Seems the person manning the infirmary may not exactly remember their own history. Kind of like Ozuma, until he started becoming more... tangible. Or maybe he simply got the wrong impression. Tough to say. Skeleton's had a lot on his mind. ]
Uh, basic stuff I recognized from that book on first aid. Bunch of stuff I didn't recognize, either.
Human medicine is a little above my pay grade, pal, but it was enough to keep Rin alive when he...
...Heh.
Maybe you better ask him, instead.
[Text]
yeah. yeah, they're not sick anymore.
you end up hearing back from tori?
[Text]
she's really nice.
[Text]
she's sharp, too, gotta real good take on people. not much gets past her.
loves a good joke, and dancing.
you guys do any of that where you're from? tell her about it.
[Text]
[For the first time she's slightly disappointed about that.]
[Voice]
Worse yet, Sans' knowledge of medicine is different than hers. Perona should have expected - he's not human, after all - but it just frustrates her more. Because the situation really calls for them to be prepared, not just for right now, but for the future, too.
That last part halts her growing ire, though.]
...How many doctors are here? Or people with medical knowledge? Even a basic knowledge of first aid and medicine.
[Text]
[Text]
anyway, i don't feel like taking chances.
toss 'em before something dangerous crops up again.
[Text]
you'll figure it out, you're both responsible for people.
[ Leaders, royals. But he'll let that come up if it comes up. ]
[Text]
[Text]
absolutely nothin'.
i mean you'll figure out what to talk about.
you two have a few things in common.
[Voice]
Besides the one in the infirmary? Hell if I know.
[ He isn't going to say again that he studied first aid, because he doesn't want to volunteer for anything.
Sans's lack of helpfulness stems from not really wanting to bother digging up who wants their skill as a medic or their ability to use healing magic outed publicly. There's more healers, but Sans hasn't really gone around taking a tally... but he knows someone who has: ]
You better ask Zuko, she's gotta better idea of who can do what around here.
[Text]
Well we both care about Chara.
[Text]
[Text]
They're a smart kid. Reminds me of my sister.
[Text]
considering what they know's how they got out of both messes alive?
yeah, they're a smart kid.
[Text]
[Text]
hey, thanks for visiting tori and the kid.
i've gotta do a thing, so i'll talk to ya later.
no subject
Does Chara have any medicine or anything? I know a bit about poisons. I can probably help...[He'd like to visit either way, but he should see if there's any way he can assist first.]
[Text]
Let me know if you need a hand.
no subject
turns out we had to use my pal's last antitoxin.
i don't know what supplies the infirmary has, but you know a lot more about that stuff than i do.
think you could talk to that pink-haired girl who floats?
uh. perona? she sounded like she could use a hand figuring it out.
[ Holy crap, he should have thought of Yukio, the kid's sharp, well-read. Really, uh, well-trained for his age. And he couldn't answer any of Perona's more vital questions. That's what he calls a serendipitous match. ]
[Text]
[Voice]
I'm remember the name. Let anyone know if they need help, I'm--...I know my way around mending wounds. [She's not medically trained, nor is she anywhere near the level of an actual doctor or, god forbid, a surgeon...but she can at least do what she can to keep someone alive.] I'll be at the infirmary. Ask for Perona.
Anyone else that does know basic first aid would be greatly appreciated. I can't work by myself. Nor do I want to. [Hint, hint.]
[Voice]
To be honest, Sans is a little stunned that she's taking charge like this. It's, uh, kinda taken him by surprise. Hadn't really pegged her as the type to get so seriously fired up, but now that he's hearing it?
He's hoping they won't need her to roll up her sleeves at all. ]
Uh... You... Askin' me to announce something?
[ That's his golden opportunity to be less of a useless sack of trash and help out, and this is Sans backing away because no, nope, nuh-uh, he's done. He's done and all he wants to do is make sure his friends don't Fall Down or die, and sleep.
And sleep for DAYS. ]
Listen, it's real great of you to offer, but I ain't your guy.
[Voice]
[Voice]
[ The wink is practically audible. ]
But hey, that reminds me. There's a lady headed up to the infirmary to take stock of what we've got for medicine. Name's Perona. If you're up for it, think you could tell her about whatcha got?
[Voice]
[Rob's slight embarrassment at the compliment is definitely audible.]
But yeah, I'll head over. Thanks for the heads-up.
[Voice]
Sure. Lemme know if you need somethin'. Might know a guy.
[Voice]
When she replies again, Perona's voice is a little more quiet and subdued.]
...I'll do it - you don't have to. Just take care of yourself, Sans.
[Voice]
But Sans doesn't honestly see a problem here, or with how he's dealing with this situation.
In fact, all he sees is another situation in which he's pretty actively avoiding having to, uh, take action. ]
Ok. Uh, thanks. Good luck with that stuff.
[ There are a LOT of better qualified people who will be a lot more willing to be helpful and productive than he is right now, or... ever. ]
[Text]
It could be the queen getting sneaky at doing people in, maybe?
Anyway, I took the moment to do just that.
I really hope this will end soon, at least.
[Text]
not everybody has cellphones so, uh.
you see any more of those things?
toss 'em out. go ahead. you can just tell 'em i told you to.
no subject
I could go help take stock! I don't really know if I could make any more antitoxin, but if we worked together...
Perona. Okay. I'll look for her! Thank you.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do.
[He definitely thinks he's smart enough to help with first aid, but he also wants to help Sans out in other ways too. It sounds like a lot of people he knows are getting sick...]
