[Lance is all smiles as he clutches a small book to his chest. He's still clad in the blue lion pajamas he was wearing on Christmas, because heck, they're comfy and warm and he's happily lazing about in bed right now.]

Happy New Year, everyone! Okay, I'm like...two days late, yeah. But better late than never! For being stuck in a castle with monsters, at least we sure managed to celebrate the heck out of the holidays. It's been a while since I've gotten to, so thanks to everyone who put all that stuff together.

[He hums a little as he glances to the side thoughtfully.]

So I wanted to say that, and what else was there...oh, yeah! I wanted to make a formal apology to all the cuties in the castle. For I, the amazingly gorgeous and charming Lance McClain, am now off the market. I'm now dating the one person in the castle who just might be able to rival me in sheer attractiveness, at least if he dragged his haircut out of the 1980s.

[Okay, he kids. A little. He's grown fond of your mullet, Keith, and will probably yell at you if you ever decide to cut it.]

I still don't fully understand everything that's happening here, but it's okay. Things are good. Things are actually good.

I ... think I'm 17 now? I got married when I was 16, while N and I were still in the Bastion.

To be fair, I come from a world where kids are out on their own at a fairly young age and traveling with Pokemon.

Well, I mean, as long as you're happy and really love the guy, I guess it isn't such a bad thing. I couldn't imagine already settling down at that point, though.

Yeah. And I do, so ... it works. I mean, I never expected things to happen this way, but they did and I'm pretty happy with it.

Don't worry about getting married too quickly, though? I mean, there really is no rush. If it weren't for N, I'd probably not even be in a relationship right now. With anyone. I never really felt anything romantic for anyone else.

I think Keith would have a heart attack if I proposed to him in the next god only knows how long. 'sides, my dream is to have a wedding back home on Earth, so there's no need to rush it and elope.

[Though if he's really, truly in love and they're out defending the universe for an unforeseen amount of time...

Well. Lance isn't going to think about that now. He's only actually just started dating!]

Yeah, if you've only just gotten together, it miiiight be better to hold off on that. Besides, you should totally be able to have your dream wedding.

N and I just went ahead. Our home world is destroyed anyway. We wouldn't have been able to have a wedding there.

...I'm really sorry. I've seen--worlds on the brink of destruction before, and it's...not great.

[His deepest fear is that Earth may meet the same fate one day.]

I can imagine ... We were prepared to go home after we were allowed to back in Vatheon, but we ended up in the Bastion instead. Apparently some Calamity had destroyed a lot of worlds.

The Bastion became our home after that, but then he and I were dropped here, too.

We're staying optimistic, though! We do have a home, kind of. It's not the home we imagined we would return to, but it is our home.
