 A'right, who do I gotta talk to about getting some actual self defense lessons or whatever? I've been here way too long to not be able to do anything against these asshole shadows and I gotta fix that.

It's best to learn the basics without a weapon and then progress to using one. That way you won't be totally helpless if you're disarmed.
