YOU'RE BACK!!!

[ dude no they literally just said that. Steven had it figured a ways back that no, Frisk probably wasn't really vacationing. After a little while he just had to admit to himself that he didn't believe it, even though he also had to admit that it meant he had no idea exactly what was going on with Frisk as a result.

Sans told him Frisk wouldn't be alone while they were doing whatever they were doing, though (going home like he did? something different?).

Something told him that he didn't need to stop believing in that. ]

are you ok? was it good boring or boring boring? it definitely hasnt been boring here, so you missed a lot!

[Steven's unbridled energy somehow carries through text without a hitch, and it finds Frisk stifling a small grin. There's so much earnesty in that YOU'RE BACK that they can't even find it in themself to feel bad this time.]

I got sick. [They know Sans was telling people that much, at least. And because it's also not a lie:] I slept most of the time. But I'm ok now.

my friend lapis lazuli is here now! and there was a lot of castle exploring last month! i ended up getting my powers traded with someone else and it was crazy. ozuma put together a HUGE festival a while ago too! i would have asked you to be part of my band for it. maybe we can jam together next time there's a big party?

i ended up going home for a little while but i got to come back fast.

ohhhhhhhh and i dont know if you got to meet staryuniverse yet. its my pokemon and its pretty great!

[Wow, that IS a lot. Thank goodness for the convenience of texting, or else they might have gotten lost somewhere between the festival and Staryuniverse.]

yeah totally! wow i bet you and lapis will get along! shes been through a lot of stuff lately, but i know shes a great person.

[ And she hasn't had chances to make friends apart from Steven for a seriously long time. It's a shame. Lapis deserves to have all kinds of friends who all have her back! Maybe being in the castle can be the first step. ]

just be ready for someone reaaaaaally different from peridot.

Is she a Gem too?

[Based on her name, Frisk is guessing 'yes'. Which is super neat. Frisk hasn't met a friend of Steven's yet that they haven't liked - which yes, granted, has only been one person so far, but still. From the sound of it, seems like she could use more friendly faces, and far be it from Frisk to turn down the opportunity of making a friend of a friend.]

yeah! she was never on the crystal gems team but she was my beach summer fun buddy for at least a day. thats a real bond of trust!

I made friends with Sans and his brother in a day, too. We even left the Underground together.

But they weren't my beach summer fun buddies.

i bet they would be if you asked. we don't need an ocean to have a beach to make beach summer fun buddies!
