Uhm, hello-- wait, no, it's crooked...
[Indeed it is, the scene showing Pidge at an angle. There's already a scattering of tools on the desk in whatever room she and Keith got assigned to, a mess indicative of someone who tends to think "what can I tinker with" long before "I should clean this mess".
In fact...
Where did Pidge get those tools from?
Do some of them look... familiar to any of you?
And what exactly has Pidge been making with all those spare parts, anyway?
In any case, she goes to the trouble of righting the camera angle, showing that part of the armor of her Paladin suit has been removed to a longsleeve black turtleneck underneath. That's actually what this post is about, not the random parts and tools on the table.]
Right, there. Anyway, uh. I'm Pidge Gunderson. I came in with the others at the beginning of this month, along with my teammate Keith. I know there's some... weird stuff going on with memories and whatever but--
I mean, look, I know that's probably important and everyone is focused on that rather than what your newbies are up to, but seriously... is there any way we could get some new clothes? Keith and I have been in our Paladin suits for way too long and. Yeah. No amount of showers are going to make these things smell right again if we don't have anything else to wear.
[Unfortunately due to the issue of Ozuma still being out of commission, even if someone had told her about getting favors there's really no way to go about that right now.
And that was a bit of a ramble because what is dealing with new people over a social media-like network in a strange castle that they've all be consigned to.
She can't think of anything more to say, so she reaches forward and turns the feed off to put the message up.]
(ooc: So I asked it on Plurk, but if anyone is okay with having Pidge pilfering random tools and whatnot during the first couple of weeks here, you're more than welcome to call her out on all the crap she has on her desk. :D)

Re: Video Response
Video Response
They want planets with populations they can control and exploit. They want slaves - miners and people to fight in their arenas. Anyone who doesn't fit in with their master plan of total galactic conquest gets obliterated.
Re: Video Response
[Rita can guess, but she doesn't know the scale.]
Video Response
[Pidge lets out a huff before launching in to an explanation.]
An atomic bomb is a bomb that derives its destructive power from the rapid release of nuclear energy, essentially causing mass amounts of damage all at once via heat, blast, and radioactivity. They're huge, power, and terrifying. Only two have ever been used in the entire history of my planet and the end result was all world leaders agreeing to never do it again because of the insane death toll and the fall out that continued to kill even more people after it was over.
Granted I don't think the Galra Empire has access to anything that would cause a nuclear fall out, but the blast radius from one of their rail guns is still massive and likely to kill anyone who isn't protected.
Re: Video Response
That... Oh no...
Video Response
I mean, not everyone is like that, but all it takes is one.
The Galra Empire is pretty much everything bad about humans shoved in to one massive following of a jerk named Zarkon and it's been a nightmare to deal with it ever since we found the Blue Lion.
Re: Video Response
Definitely good we don't have to deal with that here.
Video Response
And I'm no saint in that department either, but I'm not about to make an atomic bomb for craps and giggles. Not even to fight Zarkon.
[No one deserves that level of destruction and ungodly painful death.
Not even Zarkon's forces.]
Re: Video Response
I know some pretty destructive Artes, but I also don't go casting them left and right where they'd cause collateral damage. Just in a fight where I can control their blast radius precisely.
Video Response
That's what makes him way more scary than any idiot human with their hand on the big red button.
Re: Video Response
Video Response
I... don't want to risk adding Zarkon to our problems, but I really need to figure out if there's any way at all to find the rest of my team.
[And her family.]
Re: Video Response
At least, that's my thought on it. Between me, Colin, Sans, and you alone...
Video Response
Even if we had the lions here, there's only two of us. You can't really make a giant epic evil fighting robot with two parts of it.
[Rita did have a point, though.]
I guess whatever we come up with here will just have to be a really good plan B.
Re: Video Response
[To Rita, this sounds rather odd. And she's picturing actual lions, not the lion-robots Pidge is actually talking about.]
What does it have that makes it uniquely equipped for fighting Zarkon?
Video Response
I don't know all the details yet. We're... still learning, really. It's constantly being talked about as the "hope of the universe" and the strongest weapon available, though, and we keep unlocking new features in it.
Re: Video Response
Video Response
Re: Video Response
[Rita nodded.]
A serious threat, then. Not that what's here isn't, but...
Video Response
Let's keep them separate for the time being.
Re: Video Response
Video Response
In any case, I doubt I'm going to get Zarkon's attention with this tiny thing.
