[ It's so strange to be able to type again. After literally years of having to handwrite written messages, it's odd to use a phone again. It's perhaps that more than anything which sees him putting up this post onto the social media network. It's form a "newbie" and it might be out of place with the growing dark climate with the flickering lights and rotting foot, but it's something he throws out all the same.

Soooo!! Does anyone know any god date spots in the castle? Anyone already sailing the seas of romance before now, or is the stark soldiery we've been pushed towards put a quash on romance in the name of stoic friendship? Let's hear those stories, people! One in the same! It's an urban legend, one which seemed to have been made truth a year before I popped out of Tokyo! There's a dullahan, or at least a rider in all black that no one knows the sex or age of who rides around the city on a black motorcycle with no license plates on a bike which never makes an engine sound. No, instead, that bike makes the revving sound of a stallion, echoing across the night sky.

And it's said that same rider...

Doesn't have a head.

And that they are an invincible monster, controlling shadows to their whim and wielding a giant scythe.

... Wow. Well... I guess the fair folk might modernize in some places... though I'd have thought the iron in most vehicles and in the cities would keep them out.

Though if it sounds like a horse, maybe the bike actually is a transformed horse. That would make sense. And the fair folk are said to be incredibly powerful... I've never met any, though. At least that I know of.

That's really cool.

[ Having met Celty now, he can confidently say that... it's a little like that. Still, better to preserve a legend than to keep facts flowing.

Ooooh I'd even forgotten about the whole thing with fairies and iron! That's true, it must mean she's a huge oddball among the whole pixie society!

Maybe! It'd be cool to talk to her... most of the nonhumans I've talked to have been ghosts.

... Which are kind of humans but not quite anymore.

What about these shadows here? You met that many of them?

They don't really seem to be willing to talk.

Probably not, but I've heard willing to fight.

From what I've seen, yes. Very much so.

So have you or haven't you fought them yet?

I have. They haven't talked, only fought. Except... the ones with horns were less aggressive than the others.

Oh yeah? So there's distinct classes? What sort of techniques or weapons have you used on them?

Mostly trying to punch them to check if they're ghosts, but they don't seem to be quite the same. Other than that, baseball bat to the face works pretty well.

Physical attacks work?

Are there distinct types other than the horned ones?

How strong are they?

They do if you have an ability to do physical damage to ghosts.

There's the ones that are like spiders, the humanoid ones that have wings that don't fly, the humanoid ones with wings that do fly, and the really beefy humanoid ones. In increasing order of strength... I think.

At least that I've seen, at least.

So normal people are worthless.

I never said that. And like I said, they're not quite the same.

I mean I wouldn't recommend wading into the middle of a pack of them with no training, but normal people aren't worthless.

Normal people can't harm ghosts.

I said they're not the same. They're not ghosts. I was testing to see if they are, but they're not.

So why would it matter if you can punch ghosts for physical attacks to work? Normal people aren't magic? Or am I missing something?

Because if they were ghosts, I could grab them and exorcise them, but they didn't feel right. Ghosts have a kind of... this weird half-feel. Like you're grabbing something but it's really squishy. But the shadows don't feel like that. They're more solid. But I didn't know until I punched one.

Maybe I'm bad at explaining.

[ Man he'll say. Bats work but physical attacks don't. Light magic is the be all end all, but you can brawl? At this point, he's probably better off just fighting some weak one and fleeing if he really is worthless and thinking about what to do from there. Masaomi exhales hard out of his nose but fortunately, text can't convey frustration unless he intends it to. And while he did intend it to before now, he makes a much more blasé response this time ]

Hey it's cool, a shadow's pretty undefinable in the first place.
