[ It's so strange to be able to type again. After literally years of having to handwrite written messages, it's odd to use a phone again. It's perhaps that more than anything which sees him putting up this post onto the social media network. It's form a "newbie" and it might be out of place with the growing dark climate with the flickering lights and rotting foot, but it's something he throws out all the same.

And it's...! ]

Soooo!! Does anyone know any god date spots in the castle? Anyone already sailing the seas of romance before now, or is the stark soldiery we've been pushed towards put a quash on romance in the name of stoic friendship? Let's hear those stories, people! Wow, that's some casual confession stuff. I might be of this new flippant generation, but even if I accepted that, I might still wanna ask for a second and more classy proposal.

Max Caulfield. Nice meeting you. And yeah, I guess it would be nice ... Chloe's really spontaneous, though, so when I really thought about it I realized that this is exactly the kind of thing she would do anyway.

Umm ... well, I know we have had a few suggestions, but one of them is kind of bedridden due to getting the shit beat out of him recently, so things are a bit on hold right now.

Buuut if that's how it falls and where you both appreciate it, who am I to question romance? After all, I'm not even near that sort of position myself, carrying the terrible burden of all the girls hearts in the world.

The Queen doesn't really discriminate when she wants to target someone, sadly.

We were best friends back in our home world before we were brought here. The awkward thing is that we were brought from ... I don't know, different time frames? The last thing she remembers before arriving here happened a few months before the time that I came from.

I'm not exactly a stranger to time shenanigans, I'll be honest. That really threw me for a loop, though.

Hah! Now *that* sounds familiar. I've seen and experienced the same many, many times. But on the other hand, I would have never said that I wasn't a stranger to time shenanigans coming out of my own world, soooo, Max-kun, do you have some dark secret to share with the class?

But still, best friends to married? Is it the legendary Childhood Friend clause?

It's not really much of a secret. I used to be able to rewind time. Can't do it anymore, though. Believe me, I've tried. There have definitely been a few incidences in this place where I wanted to rewind time and have a do-over ...

Childhood friend clause? You mean like those people who make a promise that if they're not married by a certain age, they'll marry each other?

Whoa, really? That's a really cool power to have.

[ Mildly existentially horrifying for everyone else, depending, but super cool. ]

Oh, that too but don't make it so sad! We're talking more childhood friends who promise to marry each other just because they want to! You know, the classics where they make promises they don't even know the weight of. Hell on a two for one I'll even let generic childhood friend status to give you five extra wedding points.

I guess so. It caused a lot of problems though.

Well, we kind of ... never did that. The whole relationship thing just kind of happened naturally with us.

That's sweet, though, it's pretty much the dream.

So you miss the power, but don't even think it was that good?

I do kind of miss having the power to go back and have a do-over ...

Someone got really hurt by taking a hit for me shortly after I got here. I wish I could go back and do that over so I could prevent that.

But using those powers back home resulted in some really bad things happening anyway. I don't want to chance making things worse than they already are here.

So traveling in time can change the world, like you hear in all those scifi stories. But if you can do it yourself, can't you go back and change your changes, or is that a whole other thing beyond your kin?
