{ Mithos spends several seconds silently staring into the screen, as if he wasn't even really sure what he was going to try to say. And is he... floating? A myriad of different colors - every one in the EM spectrum - seems to be flickering in and out behind him. It's as if he's trying to concentrate, but whatever it is he's concentrating on, it's frustrating the hell out of him, and it couldn't be more obvious. }

Alright, fine, I give up. { An annoyed sigh. He's not used to having problems controlling his powers, and to him, it's worse than embarrassing - it's a blow to his ego. } Anyone else here have powers that are based off of mana? The mana in this world is weird enough without me being able to... er... { He glances behind him. Well, it's not like it's worth hiding; the people from his world probably already know who he is. Right?

Right? }

The wings. I can't put them away.

{ That's his glitch. He ran into a shadow, whipped out his angel powers, vaporized it with one Ray, and now his wings won't go away. }

[She looks at them intently, almost in awe. Until she realizes something and starts pouting.]

How come you never showed them to me before?

[Besides, when someone has such cool powers they shouldn't be ashamed of them. Quite the opposite. Unless that was all a strategy. Like a trump card he was keeping to deceive his enemies. If so, well, that was tough luck.]

{ Mithos sighs. Of course she'd be the first one to reply, and the first thing she'd ask is why he never told her about them before. Well, he supposes he should have seen this conversation coming; being his roommate, she had to have noticed that he was always awake whenever she went to bed and when she woke up again, and that he rarely ate anything; and when he did, it was always something small. }

You asked me to show you my magic. This isn't magic. It's a part of my body.

{ The wings were at least twice the wingspan of Colette's, and had multiple colors, instead of just one; an indication that he's of a much higher tier of an angel than she is. }

I guess I should have told you sooner. I didn't exactly plan on broadcasting it to the whole castle.

[Of course, she would be. Half-elves stick together, don't they?]

That's because I don't like to pry. [Except when she does.] But it's the kind of information you could have volunteered.

[She nods.] Exactly! We're roommates. I hate to learn about things like these over a public broadcast.

[She stares at the wings for a bit longer. She wonders... They're really similar to Colettie's. Could they come from the same origin? But knowing Colette is here, she'd rather not ask Mithos where the Chosen One can hear.] We should continue this conversation in private, though.

{ Mithos had to suppress a scoff at her saying she doesn't like to pry. But still, she's right; he may not be happy about the way things turned out in his world (and he really doesn't even know the half of it, based on her timeline), but that doesn't mean he should keep it a secret. She's the only other half-elf here. He may not know her that well, but that had to count for something.

And really, they couldn't live together without her finding out eventually. She's earned the right to know. }

[She cuts the feed and goes to wait for him in the room they share. He'll find her sitting on her bed, legs swinging.]

[But she's smiling at him. Obviously it didn't take him long at all.]

What are you talking about? I was just down the hall.

{ In Mithos floats; he struggles for a few minutes to close the door, settling on just kicking it closed. He tries to go sit next to Alice, but for someone who has spent the last several hours unconsciously defying gravity, it isn't possible. Mithos tries one last time to put the wings away, and succeeds only in them flickering for a few seconds, like a video game particle effect that stays behind long after the other animations had ended. With a sigh of frustration, Mithos gives up. }

Well... Here it is. You wanted to know everything about my powers. Where all of the mana comes from, why my magic is so strong.

{ Mithos hesitates for a moment. Sure, he'd been awfully concerned with privacy and modesty with Alice as a roommate, but who wouldn't be when your roommate is someone you'd never even met before? He shakes his head, and reaches toward the collar of his shirt, and pulls it downward. The fabric stretches down to just below his neck, revealing a golden plate somehow infused onto his body. And in the center? A large, intricate crystal, far more advanced and roughly one and a half times larger than either of the Chosens'. }

Now does it make sense?

[Alice chuckles softly at his attempts to stop floating around the room. She doesn't outwardly laugh though. She has noticed he's like her when it comes to one of his weaknesses being exposed: very touchy. And while she'd normally use it against him, she kinda likes him so far. So she tries to be mindful of his feelings. Keyword being try.]

[When he pulls down his shirt and she discovered the Crystal, her jaw nearly drops. It looks like a Cruxis Crystal except so much bigger. Her mind immediately starts imagining how powerful she could become if she were to own a Cruxis Crystal as great as this one. Her hand instinctively reaches out for it, but Mithos is floating too high for her to touch it.]

What...? How?

[The pieces have yet to fall into place, Mithos.]

Eh, don't sweat it. Turns out most of these go away after a while.

[ Yeah, audio. Keep it nice and simple. He doesn't know who this is, which is... Well, unusual, it's too soon for newcomers. But hey, he's missed out on people before. Guy's got a tough time already without having to get introduced to 'surprise, talking skeletons'. ]

A cosmetic issue like wings, well.

I created these wings. If anyone should be able to control them, it's me. { The fact that it could indeed be a lot worse doesn't even register to him. From his perspective, it's more than a cosmetic issue; it's humiliating. }

Is this that 'queen's' work again?

[ These bugs are indiscriminate. Sans doesn't see how making some wings makes him any different from, say, Sanji, who suddenly spoke in other languages he didn't know, or... well, just about anybody else.

Quite possibly, this stranger has been blessedly isolated from these glitches. ]

Wouldn't be the first time, or the last. Or someone broke something. Who knows, huh? We'll just muddle through.

[ It took glitches to make it personal? Wow, did this guy dodge a major bullet or two or three or half a dozen. Clearly he wasn't around for the nightmares, or the hallucinations, or the memories getting shared without their permission, or the shadow doppelgangers, or even ending up linked to each other's souls like most of them are now.

{ How? To break something would imply that they had more influence over this castle than he thought possible. Now he's interested.

And yes, he has been mercifully unaffected by the soulbonding. The way his soul works thanks to the Cruxis Crystal, that would probably not end well anyway. }

He can't see the one speaking, but there's a strong undertone of suspicion and mistrust in Mithos' voice when he responds. }
