Well, this is a pleasant surprise.

If anyone needs anything built? Or if anyone's curious to see the place I call home? Come over to my quarters. A little bit of an interesting change has taken place, and it's given me my tools back.

Wooow, you're quite the engineer if that's doable for you, Colin-san. But then, I'm not sure about the nature of the world we're in now, it could be this is yet another one which sucks people and things from all over.

[ He doubts it, given their circumstances though. ]

[He starts to talk, then he pauses.]

Well, what I was about to say would take three degrees and a head for multidimensional physics and theoretical quantum mechanics.

Let's just say that in the grand scheme of things, there are more dangerous planes than there are safe ones. Life can't exist in a fair percentage of them.

It's not something you want to fly into blindly.

So this isn't one of those scifi things were you can get some mystery particles off my clothing and triangulate the dimension they came from and use that to position, huh? That's a bummer.

[ Not that he expected that to work. ]

What do you mean by fabrication?

Sadly, no. The temporal investigations division does try that back home, but... it takes years. It's like trying to find a specific needle in a stack of needles.

Now, if we had beacons for our universes, that would be another matter entirely. But... again, that's a very specialized field that none of us know anything about.

[A sigh.]

Anyway. Fabrication is just another word for the rapid assembly, and in some cases invention, of equipment and goods.

[ In all honesty, he suspects on some gut level that even if they did try to cheat their way out, it would cause a very problematic rebound. That's what happened every time Catherine tried to do it, or that time that the Stark guy tried to do it... but then the circumstances of that world were entirely different. On that world, people were sucked in randomly and denied exit. On this world, they are chosen warriors and the element they're fighting, frankly, would probably be more than willing to see them gone.

It's different, basically, and all the more reason he really should put more of this to pen. Or well, phone, more likely. ]

And you can do that now with your tools?

As long as I've got my workshop, and I mean MY workshop from my universe, I can build just about anything. I've got an automated assembly line in the workshop that can crank out just about anything I might need.

The trick is, being able to use that technology outside of my workshop. A lot of tech relies on a lot of other tech to work.

Now, the generator we were talking about? That I can do. That is an entirely self-sustaining device. No different than an emergency generator for sale at any hardware store. But other things require a lot of support systems to work.

I'll be happy to build anything, of course. The trick is making it work on its own.

[ He can build more or less anything, huh. Just might need some materials. He considers this for a long moment, humming a bit. Was this guy looking for his selfish desires or a greater good thing? He keeps running through his mind, but... ]

I could use some collapsible batons and then I've got some wire you could look at and see if you can clone or whatever. Beyond that, if we're talking for the castle as a whole, that medical equipment, that generator for it, maybe some battery systems beside that...? Eto.

I wonder if a laptop could be hooked up to this phone network.

Collapsible batons are a breeze. I built shock batons for a friend about a year ago, I can work on a couple of garden variety slap-sticks easy.

What's the wire for? I can probably do something along those lines, but it would depend on the purpose.

And yeah, I can patch a laptop into the network. I can also configure it to take a charge from the generator, if you need.

That'd be helpful on all fronts. Eto, actually, if you can work a shock into them, that might be good too.

[ He hums ]

The wire's multi-purpose. It's a really strong material.

Your wire. Is it communications equipment that plugs into something, or is it something like a garrote?

[You can hear the amusement in his voice.]

[ Honestly, he wasn't 100% sure what that second one was but he'll answer confident-sounding, ]

Garrote. I'm not even sure if it holds a charge, really, the thing's usually used for binding or catching things or the like.

A charged garrote would just be cruel, but I get'cha.

Well, if you bring it by, I'll see what I can do with it. Wire of any sort tends to have many uses.

Hahaha, well, cruelty's often a little bit situational.

[ He sighed. He's been sort of just rattling out a lot of ideas for the guy, he might be lost by this point. Masaomi's a bit lost himself. He resists the urge to spin his phone the way he would a pen back when he was using the journals and instead just hums, looking around for-

Oh, right, the phone. He opens a notepad, clicking out some notes even as he keeps talking ]

Well, if you're so confident and looking for work, I'll see what seems best and meet you there. Where even is that?

I'm in my quarters on the first floor of the residence quarters. It shouldn't be hard to find me, the door will open for you on approach.

[He sounds chipper and amused.]
