Well, this is a pleasant surprise.
If anyone needs anything built? Or if anyone's curious to see the place I call home? Come over to my quarters. A little bit of an interesting change has taken place, and it's given me my tools back.
And Ozuma, can I assume that this is your doing? If so... Thanks.

And if it can't be built, I'll find a way to make it anyway.
no subject
[ And why would his room changing- well, he has tools.
... He didn't before? ]
no subject
But yes, I can handle just about anything you may need.
no subject
A large simulation room which has adjustable terrain, enemy AI, controllable gravity and weather functions, and the ability to design specific locations or areas for people to battle in, explore, or otherwise program to their needs. Ah, and a vending machine with various health items outside of it might be good. And a bigger and more technologically advanced medical center? Mmm, so basically a good Battle Dome.
[ He expects the guy to take it as a joke, of course. Who wouldn't? ]
no subject
With the right materials, of course. Which I am likely lacking. You do Ozuma a favor to get the materials, and I can build it. Hard light holo sims aren't particularly difficult in the grand scheme of things.
The vending machines might actually be harder, and easier for Ozuma to both supply and stock.
[Is this guy serious?]
1/2
Well. ]
no subject
[ Was this guy serious? ]
But seriously, putting aside my whims, more and better medical equipment for the infirmary to upgrade it to a more legit clinic might not be the worst idea. I know one doctor out there in the universe who'd be alarmed we don't seem to have an MRI or X-Ray.
[ Or really that it's not bigger than it is. It got pretty cramped there last month... But that's more something for Ozuma, probably, than an engineer.
... but man does he miss the Battle Dome. ]
no subject
MRI would require more power than we can reasonably spare, but an X-Ray machine would be doable. ... Of course, then you'd need people qualified to operate both. X-Ray machine would certainly be easier than an MRI, but...
Still. Should be doable. But it still comes down to supplies.
You up to supplying it, I'll be happy to build it.
no subject
He nodded to himself ]
Well then if we're talking redundancy, a bigger and better plus second capacity generator might be of interest. Plus some wiring, of course, unless we can cheat that. I'm no doctor, I'm not sure what priority is. Just saying the whole medieval vibe [ Okay it was a bit past that but still ] is unsettling there.
no subject
I've been meaning to build another one since nobody thought to grab my old one out of the Bastion...
You have just earned some fabrication time!
no subject
[ No, he did follow some of it. But he also was playing dumb a little, plus he ... didn't know what fabrication is. So. ]
Still, I could list off some other inane ideas.
no subject
no subject
Trans-dimensional portals?
no subject
Or any of the other less than desirable planes of existence.
I've got the specs for a TDPG, but I'm not a qualified operator. That's a VERY narrow field of study.
no subject
[ He doubts it, given their circumstances though. ]
So that's to risky for us?
no subject
[He starts to talk, then he pauses.]
Well, what I was about to say would take three degrees and a head for multidimensional physics and theoretical quantum mechanics.
Let's just say that in the grand scheme of things, there are more dangerous planes than there are safe ones. Life can't exist in a fair percentage of them.
It's not something you want to fly into blindly.
no subject
[ Not that he expected that to work. ]
What do you mean by fabrication?
no subject
Now, if we had beacons for our universes, that would be another matter entirely. But... again, that's a very specialized field that none of us know anything about.
[A sigh.]
Anyway. Fabrication is just another word for the rapid assembly, and in some cases invention, of equipment and goods.
no subject
It's different, basically, and all the more reason he really should put more of this to pen. Or well, phone, more likely. ]
And you can do that now with your tools?
no subject
The trick is, being able to use that technology outside of my workshop. A lot of tech relies on a lot of other tech to work.
Now, the generator we were talking about? That I can do. That is an entirely self-sustaining device. No different than an emergency generator for sale at any hardware store. But other things require a lot of support systems to work.
I'll be happy to build anything, of course. The trick is making it work on its own.
no subject
I could use some collapsible batons and then I've got some wire you could look at and see if you can clone or whatever. Beyond that, if we're talking for the castle as a whole, that medical equipment, that generator for it, maybe some battery systems beside that...? Eto.
I wonder if a laptop could be hooked up to this phone network.
no subject
What's the wire for? I can probably do something along those lines, but it would depend on the purpose.
And yeah, I can patch a laptop into the network. I can also configure it to take a charge from the generator, if you need.
no subject
[ He hums ]
The wire's multi-purpose. It's a really strong material.
no subject
Your wire. Is it communications equipment that plugs into something, or is it something like a garrote?
[You can hear the amusement in his voice.]
no subject
Garrote. I'm not even sure if it holds a charge, really, the thing's usually used for binding or catching things or the like.
no subject
Well, if you bring it by, I'll see what I can do with it. Wire of any sort tends to have many uses.
no subject
[ He sighed. He's been sort of just rattling out a lot of ideas for the guy, he might be lost by this point. Masaomi's a bit lost himself. He resists the urge to spin his phone the way he would a pen back when he was using the journals and instead just hums, looking around for-
Oh, right, the phone. He opens a notepad, clicking out some notes even as he keeps talking ]
Well, if you're so confident and looking for work, I'll see what seems best and meet you there. Where even is that?
(CRAP! Lost track of this one.)
[He sounds chipper and amused.]
( it happens )
[Audio]
'Given you your tools back'? [She sounds relaxed, in spite of her question.] if they're missing and that valuable, couldn't you use a favor with Ozuma to have them around all the time?
no subject
These are tools that are advanced. Significantly. They can cause cultural damage if left around peoples that have yet to reach the level of science necessary to use and understand them.
And I'd really rather not give the queen access to Plasma tech, no matter how useful it may be.
no subject
[Just bringing it here technically creates the possibility, even if it's not her directly. Maybe she'll have a Shadow possess a hapless ally, and the tools find their way into its hands. That's reasonable. And as someone who abhors technology, doubly so to her.]
no subject
Of course, given that this castle seems to be ancient, I have no idea if this world even has technology beyond swords, spears, and spiritual belief.
no subject
no subject
I'm not so full of myself that I think technology has to be advanced to be impressive.
My concern is technological ages of history.
