[Here's a very confused looking Allura on your video phone.]

I've seen at least one thing about this, and heard talking of it in the halls, but...

...What is this 'Thanksgiving'?

It's a holiday from a country back on Earth. I'm not from there originally so it's prooooobably better if an actual American told you, but from what I've come to understand it's about family and giving thanks and a metric crapton of food.

Just, so much food, Allura. All the food, if it's anything like the holidays we have back where I come from. More food than you even know what to do with. Oh man, the Christmas dinners we'd have back home... Leftovers for days with how much we'd make. So I guess Thanksgiving is similar at least like that.

Usually no, hence the leftovers part. I'm from a huge family, so we always have to make a ton, and we always overdo it just to be on the safe side.

[Oh, yeah.]

Christmas is another holiday, about a month after. That's something celebrated around the world, though, not just the United States.

It started as a religious thing, over things in Christianity. The birth of their Messiah, Jesus, and just kind of....gets confusing. Honestly, it just turns more like Thanksgiving than anything else.

As Lance said, it's a Terran holiday from the country of America.

From my understanding, it's a holiday centered around the tradition of giving thanks for survival, bountiful harvest, friendship, and alliances. It culminates in a grand feast where people declare what they have to be thankful for before dining.

It is ALSO celebrated with a parade, and their national sport of Football. But that's more on a national level than a family level.

I think that'll be a question of whether or not Ozuma brings us the proper quantities of food to have anything resembling a feast of plenty. But I certainly wouldn't turn it down either.

As for Football, it's a game where teams each try to move a ball across the field while the other team tries to stop them. It's a little violent, and there's a lot of mind games at work in it. Throwing the ball and running the ball are the primary means of advancing, but there are occasionally other tricks.

It's a little difficult to describe, but my library has hundreds of thousands of hours of games stored in it if you're actually curious about more.

Don't worry, I'm not from Earth either. I'm from a post warp civilization, and I have a library in my arm that contains roughly six planets' worth of collected media.

In other words, I've got basically the entire national football league's archives in my arm. Along with pretty much every home video game console version of the game. Among other things.

If I were from Earth, I'd probably be a lot more excited about that than I am. But I can definitely share the material with you. Quite easily.

[He looks a little surprised when the feed starts, this is the first time he's gotten his phone to work. His expression levels out pretty quickly.]

I'm not sure, but it sounds like a lot of food.

Let me snag my pad, I think I loaned it to Pidge.

You can watch this stuff on your phone, but the screen's a little small. The pad will be a LOT easier for it.

If you've got any interest in any games, I'll have to rig up a controller to play properly. But for the books, the vids, the music? All that stuff will play on a pad easily.

Do you know about movie night? I show lots of films from various worlds. Usually two every other night or so.

Hm. I think you'll find opportunities to learn about everyone here depending on how long we are needed.

Are you Allura by any chance?

I am Fenris. Keith spoke of you before, he's good at descriptions it seems.

It's nice to meet you, princess. [He bows his head slightly in respect. It was a reflex from his days in servitude.]

Stick around in the mess hall after dinner. It's not every night, but I show entertainment for everyone. We also try to have some snacks to make it as enjoyable as possible.

As for the pad, it shouldn't be too much of a bother. If I ever need it, I can track it down easily.

[He blinks a bit at her nod, not used to 'authority figures' acknowledging him in such a way. He smirks and shakes his head.] He spoke mostly of our similar features, nothing ill.

I will keep that in mind, Miss Allura.
