Okay, something I've been wondering.

How many of us, outside of this place, are tasked to save the world or whatever? There's some big evil or something coming and you're the only one or one of the few who can or will stand against it?

Bonus points for also having a predicted doom outside of that giant threat.

I was just curious if I was the only one whose life sounded like an awful fantasy novel.

I'm pretty sure that the bounds of that culture, such as it is, are not unknown past those shores! Actually, I'm pretty sure I've seen a Mad Max or two in my time!
