[ Completely going against his own ideas about energy conservation (it's justified, he thinks, by the fact that it's solving one problem -- hunger), here's a short video from the mess hall.

Plenty of you already know the skeleton, short, round, slow, frequently grinning and looking like all those naps he takes isn't doing him any favors. ]

So the kids have kept themselves busy putting together a little something to share with you guys. It's pretty souper.

[ That one's probably not too obvious, but he chuckles anyway, propping himself up on an elbow. ]

Eh... actually, not this time. [It feels strange to admit that, but he won't take credit for something others had a hand in.] There's a lot more people who cook now, and I kinda got... kicked out for panicking about the food situation.

[ She's been .... kinda lazy in comparison. Honestly though, she's so mentally fucked up right now that doing anything to help the castle at the moment probably wasn't going to go well. She wants to get back to things, though ... ]

[He won't push her, but he does hope she shakes it off soon. He misses seeing her around. Though that sure as hell wasn't a bomb he was expecting to hear after all this time.] Whaaaaaaat...

Chloe's proposed to me before as a joke, so I thought she was joking when she asked me to marry her again. Next thing I know, she's on the network asking if there's anyone who can officiate a marriage.

Given everything that's happened here, it probably won't happen until things calm down a bit ...

... I've watched Chloe die in front of me. Many times, in many ways. I've watched another friend jump to her death in front of me. I used to be able to rewind time, but in the end Chloe still had to die, and I couldn't do shit for Kate.

[ It's painful to talk about, but it's the best way she can explain to him why she feels like she has to keep everyone here at arm's length. ]

I even tried to rewind time when you took that hit for me, but it only gave me a nosebleed and more reasons to be as fucked up as I am.

[Rin is stuck staring at her at that explanation. It was one thing to have people in this place die and return, but to be the sole reason your friends are able to stay alive... And then not even be able to help them regardless of that power. That's fucked up. And knowing that she tried to keep him from getting hurt. He rubs absently at the scar that's hidden by his shirt, glancing away.] I didn't know that shadow could hurt me that way. I've... taken a lotta hits before, shit that woulda killed or at least seriously injured other people, and come out just fine after a while. Part of bein' a demon - I heal stupidly fast. Usually. I didn't even think twice about what that'd do to someone else, though. Seein' someone get run through like that. Especially after the weapon that thing had was able to drain my energy like it was nothin'... I'm really sorry, Max. I didn't know I was puttin' you through somethin' like that.
