[To say that Lance is confused would be the understatement of the forever. His life has taken a turn for the ridiculous ever since he'd found Shiro, and recently, he'd been thrown into a wormhole only to awaken in a strange cage in the rain and wind solving a word search puzzle so that he wouldn't drown. Two days later and with his life thankfully in tact, he still doesn't know where he is and why. He's talked a bit to his cagemates but their focuses were obviously on making sure they'd survive.
And so now he's just trying to throw out a communication line any way he can, as no one's responding yet to his attempts over his paladin helmet.]
Keith? Hunk? Shiro? Pidge? Allura? Coran? Anyone...? Come on, I can't be the only one thrown into wherever this is! I know a vortex in a wormhole isn't exactly the most stable of gateways, but there's gotta be someone here. Come in, anyone.
At the least someone tell me where the heck I am. Because I really need to get back. It's not like the Galrans are just going to sit on their butts while I almost drown in a cage.

[He's also been looking for Lance. So hearing his voice made Hunk jump, then smile into the video.]
Oh, there you are. You realize that going through a wormhole and exiting it at different intervolts, even the slightest differences, could possibly cause us to be great big huge distances away from each other. So theoretically... it could have been very possible that you were here on your own.
But you are not.
Hey, Lance.
no subject
Bro! Hunk! You're here!
no subject
Not sure where "here" is. [complete with air quotes around 'here'] But yes. I'm here.
Were you in the cages too? [He gave him a more worried look at that. Bro, are you all right? Keith and Pidge are both sick.]
no subject
[He's alright. ...well. As alright as he can be. He's not sick, at least, not like the others now. Just confused and sick to his stomach about it all.]
no subject
She's... sick. Keith too. Where ever that wormhole shot us out... is insane.
I never liked cross word puzzles.
no subject
Crossword puzzles are even worse. And...sick? Like, how sick? Not dying sick, right?
no subject
Fever and restless. Coughing. Sounds terrible. Pneumonia perhaps? They have doctors looking into it though. I'm sure Pidge'll be fine.
Are you okay?
no subject
[Physically? Mostly. Mentally? ...Not totally fine, no. It's not quite as visible over just video, but if anyone's going to know Lance's state of mind, it's Hunk.]
She'll pull through, yeah. Like we haven't been through worse. And, uh, Keith, how's that guy doing?
no subject
[Sitting on the floor, like a guard, near Pidge was not the best form of rest, but it was something. Still, when he allowed himself to sleep, he was going to knock out for some time.]
Exactly. We'll get through this. Keith? He seems okay? Coughing and chills too. It was bad out there. You going to go visit them?
no subject
Soon as I figure out this weird castle, I'll be there. The second I stop getting lost.
no subject
Lost? You're not wandering, are you? I don't think that's all that safe of an idea, Lance.
no subject
[Because that...makes sense?]
no subject
no subject
[Hunk has a point, though. He usually does. Almost always does. Honestly, Hunk kind of is Lance's voice of reason.]
It's not like I'm getting lost on purpose. I think I might be getting closer, though?
no subject
It's the, ah, first floor, I think? Or... second? I'm not sure how they're being... counted. There are design flaws all over this place.
no subject
And I'm guessing there's no info directory, huh.
no subject
Not that I've seen, but I haven't gone exploring yet.
no subject
no subject
Yeah, yeah. I'll come out and see if I can see you. [and he would come out of the medical area to try and peek and look around for Lance after saying that. Mostly because this is the only area so far that he's dared to venture. Here and the kitchen.]
Shiro looks tired when he responds, but everyone's tired after that two day fiasco. He's smiling at least? Not wearing his paladin armor, though. Something dark, covering, and nondescript as is his style, but nothing Lance has ever seen him wearing before.]
Good to see you, Lance.
no subject
You have no idea how much you worried me, dude!
no subject
Raising an eyebrow in confusion. Why would Lance be worried about him?]
I wasn't in the cages.
no subject
And why wouldn't Lance be worried about him?]
The fight! The Galra base, and Zarkon, and the wormhole! I didn't know if I'd end up on the opposite end of the universe from you guys or not!
no subject
Shiro blinks once or twice before realization dawns on his face. Oh. It's not like he's stopped thinking about what happened, but he's had enough time to get a little distance on it, and the castle has given him plenty of other things to focus on.
It's still fresh for Lance, but for Shiro...]
This place... time doesn't always line up the way it should. That fight was two months ago for me.
no subject
[Lance is more than a little shocked at first, but then again. Wormhole. He's lucky he's actually in the same place as the others. Time...what's a month or two, as long as they're all safe? It's the distance that's the problem.]
Space. I just...give up on trying to understand it.
no subject
[That's meant to be reassuring, but... yeah.]
Has anybody given you the run down on this place yet?
no subject
[It's not the most reassuring, but he'll trust Shiro, at least. He can do that.]
I'm hearing a few things, but I really don't understand it.
no subject
[Alright, give him a second. How to phrase this as not-crazy as possible...]
The way people here tell it, we may be in a different universe altogether. Everyone here has been pulled in to help in a fight between two supposed deities, the god of light and the Queen of Shadows.
And he asked for someone she knows. Someone she knows has been desperate to see a familiar face.]
Hey, you don't know me, but I know Pidge. She's here. As far as I know, she's safe enough right now. This is The Castle, we don't really have another name for it.
We all were brought here because of a war going on between two deities. [Gentle smile] It's a lot to take in, I know. I've been here for awhile, though, so I can answer questions if you need.
no subject
[He's glad to hear Pidge is alright, though.]
no subject
Outer space... That's pretty neat. We don't have technology like that here, sadly. You'll meet Ozuma later. You were supposed to meet him when you first arrived. He's the Avatar of the god of light, trying to retake this castle from the evil Queen of Shadows.
She's the reason a bunch of you are stuck in cages.
[Minako's face turns very, very sour for a moment.]
no subject
...right. This sounds like some kind of video game or comic book. I'm not dreaming, right? Not that you'd tell me if I was...
no subject
Yeah, It does. It would be easier if we were all dreaming, but alas, no. Hang on a sec-
[She disappears off camera to have a quick conversation with... someone. Something about food, something teasing, and a... long thin wagging black tail appears for a moment on screen?
She comes back with an armful of veggies and starts chopping.]
Sorry, back.
no subject
Thanks, tummy.]
Oh, god. Where did you get that, because I can't even remember the last time I got to eat something proper.
no subject
[ Hey Lance, guess who is peeking at you over a bunch of blankets, before falling into a coughing fit and groaning.
He still feels like shit. ]
Never thought I'd say it but, good to see you.
no subject
Dude...you look like shit.
[That's how he shows his worry.]
no subject
[ Keith rolls his eyes before trying to breath through his nose and failing. ]
Yeah, well, that happens when you've been hanging in a flooded cage in the middle of a fall storm.
[ He narrows his eyes as he gets a little closer to the camera. ]
How are you not sick?
no subject
[He sighs.]
You're in the infirmary in this place, right? You and Pidge?
no subject
Yeah, Pidge is here too but I think she's sleeping...or was? Either way if you go to see her I'd be careful, the healers'll get pissy if you disturb her too much.
[ He doesn't expect Lance to come visit him, he really doesn't. ]
no subject
Healers? Okay, right... I guess I'll bother her when she's awake.
[But you, Keith? You're his target now.]
no subject
Yeah...how are you?
no subject
[Maybe a little bit of deflection, but the point still stands. Lance doesn't get how Keith could have seriously pulled off that Zarkon stunt and been...well. Still alive and communicating afterwards, but now, he's laid up in bed with a cold.]
no subject
[ Is that the cold/flu or was did he actually look and sound sort of grave about that.
Lance doesn't know what Keith had been though, he wasn't planning on telling any of them either. He didn't want to think about dying. It wasn't like it was something he wore as a badge of honor. Sure he protected Pidge, but he still ended up dead.
That did things to a person.
Also, he's been trying to forget the anger episode with Zarkon...it's sort of what spawned that freaky Shadow of himself. ]
no subject
You are not. I was trapped with Keith, and I have seen some of the others here too. Strange how this is working out.
no subject
[Old habits die hard.]
Trapped with Keith, though? Man. Sorry you had to go through that.
