Greetings, fellow soldiers.

[The feed opens up to a view from the very edge of the bridge. Slim legs dangling over the edge, at the very precipice of everything.

It's a nice day today. The water's sparkling. A light breeze has small waves kicking up on it's surface, barely distinguishable from the quality of the video format. Even so- it's pretty.]

It's been a while since our last game. I'm sure most of you are busy with the flurry of activity this month has sparked, however- indulge me for a few minutes.

Consider it a question, more than a game.

What would a 'happy ending' look like, to you?

[Ah, Yukio. They turn the camera back around for him, offer a pleasant smile unhindered by the large shadows beneath their eyes.]

I've had several responses at this point, but I must admit, yours is probably the one I'd be inclined to seek out. Everyone getting to be where they want to be. Not too unrealistic, but still shy of something we can reach out and take, don't you think?

[Those shadows definitely get Yukio’s frown to deepen. He really wish Chara wouldn’t have to suffer as much as they do. Getting sick all the time, having trouble sleeping… it wasn’t fair.

Still, he tries to put his concern to the side and offer a smile, at least to give Chara some friendship.]

It’s just a little bit out of reach, I-I think. But it’s what I’d really want to happen. I mean, it’d mean we’d have to defeat the Queen, but… I would do anything I could to make sure I could go home and fix things.

[Use the knowledge he has to make sure he and his brother don’t drift apart like Rin claims they have.]

Well, then, I hope you get the chance to go home and fix things. If nothing else, I would also like the Queen to taste her own medicine.

[She's one in need of a lesson, they think. That consequences can still happen to one in a position of power. That she is not in control.

And then they can have their own just desserts.]

She’s… really mean. And she should get to know what she’s done to us.

[He’s not sure if he wants revenge, but just thinking about what’s happened to his friends and his brother… it’s a little hard to ignore his anger.]

[They're looking forward to that part, at least. If it's the last thing they do.]

You knew Frisk, right?

[Now that gets Yukio’s attention. He frowns a bit more, worry and confusion evident in his eyes.]

‘Knew’? They’re my friend. Still are.

...What happened? Sans wouldn’t tell me before...

[A slip up, on their part. Quietly, they switch the feed to a more private source, rather than allow Sans to bungle his way into another of their conversations.]

Nothing of great consequence, depending on who you ask.

They're simply on vacation.

...I don’t believe that. It doesn’t make sense that Frisk would go on vacation without telling their friends. And I never heard anything.

[He knows Chara knows the truth, though, and if Sans isn’t going to tell him…]

Do you know what really happened?

Yukio.

[Chara's expression drops- to nothing. Just a blank stare, unblinking.]

You don't want to know.

[Or maybe it's just exhausted. Forget their question; it wasn't all that important anyway.

Chara hangs up.]

[He knows very quickly that he’s pushed too far.]

I’m sorry, I’m just worried! I didn’t mean to-

[And of course, they’re gone. Yukio breathes out a frustrated sigh before shutting off his feed.

Does he really not want to know when being left in the dark hurts this much?]
