Greetings, fellow soldiers.

[The feed opens up to a view from the very edge of the bridge. Slim legs dangling over the edge, at the very precipice of everything.

It's a nice day today. The water's sparkling. A light breeze has small waves kicking up on it's surface, barely distinguishable from the quality of the video format. Even so- it's pretty.]

It's been a while since our last game. I'm sure most of you are busy with the flurry of activity this month has sparked, however- indulge me for a few minutes.

Consider it a question, more than a game.

What would a 'happy ending' look like, to you?

[ Rose knows what she wants her happy ending to be. Still, sometimes it can be... difficult to imagine it coming to fruition. So instead of answering, she responds with another question- ]

What if there is no happy ending?

[ Even if things were to end in a way that made her 'happy,' she'd be wholly undeserving of it. ]

Still, I'm not asking for reality. Just think of it as one of those wild, coma-induced fantasies on daytime television. Just some big lie your brain tells you right before you drop off for good.

What's the best case scenario?

[ She tries to be hopeful, but also realistic. A happy ending just isn't feasible most of the time. ]

One of those old school TVLand type plots, huh... Okay. Let's see.

[ Give her a moment. ]

I'd live on a farm in a small town where everyone knows everyone and we're almost all like family. And I'd have at least fifteen dogs and other animals and live out a quiet, common life like that until I died.

[ She couldn't curse the world with hanyo children... or anymore demon children, so. No kids. Just animals, mostly dogs, and a closeknit community.

Yeah. That sounds pretty nice. ]

[And Chara, in their usual, absolutely respectful away- snorts.]

That's all? How tedious.

[Mm. Respectful.]

[ To that, Rose smiles. ]

I want tedious. Give me the boring, mundane, and definitely tedious things in life. [ She wants peace and quiet and to, for once in her life, not be afraid. Not be hunted. ]

What about you, hm? Can't expect everyone to answer without giving us your happy ending!

[Not that Chara can disagree with the statement. Wouldn't it be nice, to live peacefully until you die?]

That's where the game gets unfair, I'm afraid.
