It's just not the first time he's been trying to put out a proverbial mine fire like this before Toriel gets wind of it, she's had a tough time, and the last thing they all need is more dust-ups. ]

Not gonna lie, his first inclination is to find something biting enough to say to drive the man as far from him and anyone he knows as possible. But, y'know, he's not that guy anymore. And he doesn't know Henry, for all he knows this stuff's normal where he's from. He doesn't seem to have it out for anybody, either. ]

You're really interested in this kinda stuff. Ever seen what grief does to a person? It ain't pretty.

[It's a very normal part of the whole process in war. Seeing allies, friends, family even, fall. Obviously he's witnessed it happening to many of the other soldiers or their loved ones. On both sides he's been on.
And he's experienced it himself too, once. Just once.]
