And They All Lived "Happily" Ever After.

Greetings, fellow soldiers.

[The feed opens up to a view from the very edge of the bridge. Slim legs dangling over the edge, at the very precipice of everything.

It's a nice day today. The water's sparkling. A light breeze has small waves kicking up on it's surface, barely distinguishable from the quality of the video format. Even so- it's pretty.]

It's been a while since our last game. I'm sure most of you are busy with the flurry of activity this month has sparked, however- indulge me for a few minutes.

Consider it a question, more than a game.

What would a 'happy ending' look like, to you?

[ You have got to be freaking kidding him. ]

'Fraid somebody's gotta put the brakes on this one.

[ Next, let's say hi to the resident dark mage. ]

Heya, Henry. Howzitgoin'?

[personal profile] justribbing 2016-06-22 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Y'know, this is pretty rich.

All that effort to reassure your mom. Whaddya call this?

[personal profile] justribbing 2016-06-22 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Science?

[ He doesn't scoff. If anything, that pointed moment of silence is a little worse. ]

It's some s-word, but not that one.

[ He'd call that suicide, and it'd kill their mother, to boot. Yeah, he can't just not say anything. ]

[personal profile] justribbing 2016-06-22 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Uh-huh. Wanna hear a story about a kid who slept in the soil?

Him neither. ]

...Sure, kid.

Not my field.

[ ...

But it does make something at the back of his thoughts itch in a way that hadn't for a while until he got here and started... dabbling again.

God damn it Chara. ]

...Well. Depends.

So, human food spoils, right? Turns out, that stuff's pretty good for soil.

Humans call it compost, kiddo, you never heard of it? Add some heat to accelerate the process and you've got yourself a stinky pile of plant food. Don't even need the generator.

Heh heh, can't tell what you're goin' harder at: Pushing your luck or testing my patience.

They're from Waterfall, you're gonna have better luck with charged water.

...

Why don'tcha try this one yourself? I've gotta sample somewhere -- redundant magic from the generator. Stuff's harmless, I checked.

[ Chara knows how messy his room can get. ]

There's enough of these flowers around to figure out the right ratio. Knock yourself out. That's one hobby that won't make your mom worry.
havesomedeath: (yay blood!)

Oh! Hey-o, Sans!

Did you wanna be included in the conversation? Cause that's just fine with me!

[Totally casual about the sudden interruption. Like they weren't just talking about death curses.

...Or more like that's just how he is about death curses. And other death-related things.]

[personal profile] justribbing 2016-06-22 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[ It's kinda disturbing how cavalier he is about it, but. Hey. It's only ever his problem when he decides it is, and-- ]

Hate to interrupt your bonding, but I don't think you should take that experiment offer too seriously. Don't see it workin' out in anybody's favor.
havesomedeath: (um... sure?)

[personal profile] havesomedeath 2016-06-22 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha ha, you think so? I mean, this kind of experiment isn't really... uh...

[How does he... put this?]

It's not really made for volunteer testing?

[To be honest, he's just a little weirded out.]

[personal profile] justribbing 2016-06-22 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, my thoughts exactly.

[ Not really.

It's just not the first time he's been trying to put out a proverbial mine fire like this before Toriel gets wind of it, she's had a tough time, and the last thing they all need is more dust-ups. ]

So you should forget all about it.
havesomedeath: (chibi)

[personal profile] havesomedeath 2016-06-22 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, Chara seems pretty interested, though. Just discussing it shouldn't be a problem or anything!

[personal profile] justribbing 2016-06-22 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, people get interested in all kinds of stuff that ain't in their best interests.

Lemme put this another way. That kid's mom is here, and she probably won't like knowing someone's talking about trying death curses on their kid. Capiche?
havesomedeath: (um... sure?)

[personal profile] havesomedeath 2016-06-22 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, technically it's her kid who started talking about it first. But hm, okay, I guess I get that?

[He doesn't sound very sure about that, like he doesn't really understand it. But it seems important to Sans, so whatever.]

No death curses. Lame, but okay.

[personal profile] justribbing 2016-06-22 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He noticed that. Henry's one of those eccentric types who seems thrilled by morbid things like curses that would chill the bones of just about anybody else. That stuff about a gruesome death?

Hooboy.

Not gonna lie, his first inclination is to find something biting enough to say to drive the man as far from him and anyone he knows as possible. But, y'know, he's not that guy anymore. And he doesn't know Henry, for all he knows this stuff's normal where he's from. He doesn't seem to have it out for anybody, either. ]

Just tryin' to save you some trouble, pal.

[ Little white lies, but hey, he doesn't need Henry to understand or even like it, he just needs this option off the table. ]

You're really interested in this kinda stuff. Ever seen what grief does to a person? It ain't pretty.
havesomedeath: (dangerous)

[personal profile] havesomedeath 2016-06-22 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, sure I have! I've seen lots of it. I have been a soldier for ages, so it kinda comes with the territory!

[It's a very normal part of the whole process in war. Seeing allies, friends, family even, fall. Obviously he's witnessed it happening to many of the other soldiers or their loved ones. On both sides he's been on.

And he's experienced it himself too, once. Just once.]

...But what's that got to do with anything?

[personal profile] justribbing 2016-06-22 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, for one, it helps the Queen more than it helps us. You've been a soldier, so y'know unified numbers can make all the difference between victory and defeat.

[ Or so he's heard. Ol' Gerson likes talking about the old days, not the War so much. But once or twice... ]

She wants us divided and demoralized.
